Experience
Alvar Agustí is Director of the Institut Clínic del Tòrax,
Hospital Clínic, Universitat de Barcelona, and Scientific Director
of the National Spanish Centre for Respiratory Research (CIBER
Enfermedade Respiatorias).
Professor Agustí has served as an executive board member of the
European Respiratory Society and is a member of several other
professional societies, including the American Thoracic Society
(ATS), and the Spanish Society for Pulmonology and Thoracic Surgery
(SEPAR). He is also member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of the
Balearic Islands and an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of
Physicians of Edinburgh (UK).
Professor Agustí has published over 200 papers in peer-reviewed
journals and contributed chapters to more than 30 books.
