The slides in this module are focused on pharmacotherapy for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Issues considered are effects of treatment on symptoms (cough, sputum, breathlessness) was well as decline in lung function, typically reflected by FEV₁. Effects of treatment on patient mortality are also considered. Slides in this module also review treatment safety and expert guidelines from global organizations for pharmacologic treatment.
